Syftet med artikeln är att utforska stadsodling som en form av domesticering av offentliga utrymmen. Artikeln föreslår ett ramverk i vilket domesticering å ena sidan handlar om sätt att skapa hemlika kvaliteter och en känsla av tillhörighet i staden, och å andra sidan om sätt att avgränsa en plats för sitt eget exklusiva användande. Baserat på en organisatorisk etnografisk studie av stadsodling i Göteborg belyser artikeln hur stadsodling kan bidra till att skapa hemlika och inbjudande kvaliteter i staden, men också vilken inkludering och exkludering som detta platsskapande skapar. Analysen baseras på etnografiskt fältarbete och kvalitativa intervjuer i fyra urbana trädgårdsföreningar i Göteborg med omnejd, karaktäriserade av olika positioner i en segregerad stad och olika social sammansättning bland odlarna.
